Laura Donnelly CDG

Casting Director & Industry Advisor at Acting Coach Scotland

Laura Donnelly is a Glasgow-based Casting Director working across film, television and theatre throughout the UK and internationally, with bases in Glasgow and Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Laura began working primarily in film and television in 2004 before moving into theatre in 2012. Today, alongside her professional casting work, Laura is Industry Advisor to Acting Coach Scotland.

Bringing the Professional Industry into Actor Training

Learning how to act is only part of becoming a professional actor.

Actors also need to understand how casting works, how to approach auditions and self-tapes, how to present themselves professionally and what will actually be expected of them once they enter the industry.

As ACS Industry Advisor, Laura brings the perspective of a working Casting Director directly into our professional actor training.

Her involvement helps ACS ensure that the industry-facing elements of our courses remain connected to the realities of contemporary casting and professional practice.

For our students, that means learning not simply how to train as an actor, but how to prepare to work as one.

Laura Donnelly at Acting Coach Scotland

Laura has worked with ACS students for a number of years, sharing first-hand insight into casting and the professional acting industry. She now has a more formal role as ACS Industry Advisor.

Her expertise is particularly relevant to the professional preparation undertaken by students on our 1-Year Professional Diploma in Stage & Screen Performance and the industry-development elements of our HND Acting & Performance programme.

That connection matters to us.

At ACS, our aim isn't simply to help students become better actors. We want them to graduate understanding the profession they are about to enter — from auditions and self-taping through to casting, representation and professional expectations.

Having an experienced working Casting Director advising the school helps us keep that training relevant.

Professional Representation
